James J. Hester Sr


James J. Hester, Sr., 59, of Greenfield, died at 12:45 P.M. on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on December 24, 1956 in Greenfield, the son of the late Bernard and Alice Kelley Hester.
Jim is survived by his four children; Donna Jo Poling of Springfield, MO, James (Olivia) Hester, Jeremy Wayne Hester and Whitney (Jamie) Hester all of Greenfield; thirteen grandchildren; his step-mother; Monna Hester of Wheelersburg, his step-grandmother; Ruth Messer of Wheelersburg, one step brother; David Reeder of Wheelersburg and one uncle; Joseph (Jeanette) Hester of South Salem. He is preceded in death by his special aunt; Annabelle Schiller.
Jim was a 1975 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. He retired after 23 years of service as a Deputy Sheriff for the Highland County Sheriff's Office. Following retirement he worked for Montgomery Security and Private Investigations. Jim was a member of the Baptist faith and a member of the NRA.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016 in the Greenfield First Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Stokes officiating. Burial will follow the service. Friends may visit with Jim's family on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. The ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME of Greenfield is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
