James W. "Bill" McKown

James Williams "Bill" McKown, 90, of Greenfield died at 12:40 a.m., Tuesday May 13, 2014 in The Ohio Veterans Home, Georgetown. He was born August 24, 1923 in Letart Falls, Ohio the son of the late Edward H. and Mary Elizabeth Williams McKown. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Hull McKown.
He is survived by one daughter; Janet (Dr. Thomas K.) Beyl of Washington C.H., one son Dr. James T. (Kimberly) McKown of Hillsboro, three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Bill was a graduate of New Metamoras High School. He served his country in the US Army during World War II. Bill retired in 1985 as a River Pilot with the Ohio River Company.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place. Burial of the cremains will be in the Greenfield Cemetery at the convenience of the family. No calling hours will be held. The ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield is serving the family.
