James R. Newman

James R. Newman, 82, of Frankfort, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 5:09 a.m., in Westmoreland Place, Chillicothe, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on Thursday, October 14, 1937 in Chillicothe, the son of the late Robert and Bernice J. Wilkins Newman.
 

He is survived by one son, Bob (Karen) Newman of Chillicothe, one daughter, Susan Newman of Frankfort, a companion of many years, Jean Lane of Frankfort, and special friends, Patti and Dave. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Westmoreland Place for all their care.
 

Jim was a 1955 graduate of Frankfort High School. He retired from Mead Paper where he worked in maintenance. He was an avid gardener and OSU football and basketball fan. He also enjoyed his trips to the beach and Amish country.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020 in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. No public visitation hours will be observed. The family requests no flowers, but instead, friends may give a contribution to a charity of their choice in Jim’s memory.
