James A. Rumfield, 74, of Bainbridge died 1:15 pm Thursday, September 12, 2013 at his residence. He was born July 9, 1939 in Ross County the son of the late Olin and Jesse Knisley Rumfield. On December 9, 1961 he married Carolyn VanGundy, who survives.
Also surviving are his daughters, Tonda (Neil) Morris and Toby (Rob) Waller both of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Chase (Christine) Morris, Chad Morris, Colton Morris, Tristan Rumfield and Tanner Walls; step grandchildren, Bob (Lyz) Waller, Rick (Raelynn) Waller and Cliff Waller; great grandchildren, Hallie and Bentley Morris; step great grandchildren, Molli, Madeline, and Gavin Waller; sister, Mildred Owens; brothers, Roy (Walkera) Rumfield, Robert (Norma) Rumfield, Roger (Carolyn) Rumfield and Olin (Talitha) Rumfield.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, James Todd Rumfield and a son-in-law Michael Walls.
Rummy retired from Mead after 42 years. He was dearly loved by all of his family and friends.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Sunday at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home of Bainbridge. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Monday, September 16, 2013 at Storms Chapel with Rev. Dane Knapp officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Potts Hill Rd.
