Jane Holbert Strausbaugh went home to be with her Lord 7:50 am on December 24, 2012 at her residence in Chillicothe, Ohio, after a brave battle with cancer.
She was born January 10, 1953 in Ross County the daughter of John and Dorothy Skaggs Holbert. Jane was a 1971 graduate of Paint Valley High School, a graduate of the School of Cosmetology and was retired from Musser and Associates Rehabilitation Services, where she worked as a receptionist. She joined Morgan Fork United Baptist Church in 1979 and remained a faithful member.
She is survived by her loving husband, William Strausbaugh; son, Steve Strausbaugh of Novelty, Ohio; daughter, Donna (Roger) Carson; granddaughter, Brandee Carson and grandson, Chase Carson all of Piketon; father, John (Tiny) Holbert; brothers, John, Joel (Cathi) and Robert Holbert all of Bainbridge; sister, Jean (William) Whitehouse of Trenton, Ohio; stepsisters Judy (Max) Shoemaker of Bourneville and Debbie (Tom) Davis of Springfield, MO; stepbrother, Eddie (Kathy) Free and stepsister-in-law, Patricia Free both of Bainbridge. Jane also has several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews mourning her parting, as well as her close friends, Cheryl Huff and Henrietta Holbert.
Her mother, Dorothy Holbert and stepbrother, Mike Free, preceded her in death.
Friends may call from Noon until 2 pm Friday, December 28, 2012 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home of Bainbridge where services will begin at 2 pm with Elder Arvil Murray Jr. and Elder Paul Blanton officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Morgan Fork United Baptist Church in c/o Rueben Howard 6159 Germany Rd. Beaver, Ohio 45613 or Hospice of Adena 111 West Water St. Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
