Janet Potter

Janet M. Potter, 83, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at home. She was born in Scioto County on Friday, May 16, 1941, a daughter of the late Lloyd E. and Florence A Shope Spriggs.

She is survived by her seven children: Debra (Scott) Stuart of Centerville, Charles Ackley, Jr. of West Jefferson, Jeff (Mary) Ackley of Frankfort, Tammy Blanton of Marion, Pammy Young of London, Janet K. (Jerry) Walters of Springfield, and Bill (Elaine) Potter of Brownsburg IN, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several great – great grandchildren, three brothers; Edward (Vickie) Spriggs of Chillicothe, Art (Paula) Spriggs of Stoutsville and Rick (Tara) Spriggs of Douglasville, GA and one brother-in-law; James Ackley of Frankfort as well as several nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by two grandsons, Robert “Peanut” Byerly and Eric L. Byerly, two sisters; Joann Kendall and Betty Ackley, one brother; Donald Spriggs and one son-in-law; Ernest Young, Jr. 

Janet worked as a nursing assistant at Madison County Hospital for several years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Eagles Aerie 950 in London. Janet enjoyed bowling and loved to take care of animals who needed her extra care. 

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Stan Kirtland officiating. Following the service, Janet will be laid to rest beside her mother, Florence, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Family and friends can visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. 

Janet’s family wants to extend a special thank you to the Jim Ackley family, her Hospice nurse, Michele Littleton, her aide, Jessika Curtis, Vickie Spriggs, and Julie Ackley.
