Janice M. Wood, 80, of Frankfort, died at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018, at her home after an extended illness. She was born on May 28, 1938 in Frankfort, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Georgia Mae Hall Stumbo. On March 20, 1981, she married Steven K. Wood, who survives.
Janice is also survived by two children, Tamora (Roger) Winemiller of Louisville KY, David (Kim) Hottinger of Frankfort, four grandchildren, Tara (Michael) Durnil, Jordan Winemiller, Zackary Hottinger, Auston Hottinger, two great-grandchildren, Chase Winemiller, Gabriel Durnil, two sisters, June (Clyde) Lambert of Chillicothe, Patti Crites of Colorado Springs, CO, numerous nieces and nephews, and her high school group of friends, known as “The Crumbs.” Janice was preceded in death by six sisters, Jessie, Josephine, Darlene, Elizabeth, Donna, Nancy, and three brothers, Greenville, Fredrick, and Robert.
Janice was a 1957 graduate of Frankfort High School. She worked for 23 years as a lab technician at Allergy Labs of Ohio, Columbus. Janice was a member of Chillicothe Baptist Church, Chillicothe. Janice loved going on vacations with her grandchildren and other family members.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018, in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort. Friends are invited to visit with Janice’s family at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Adena Hospice, 272 Hospital Rd, Suite 1, Chillicothe OH 45601.
