Jerry L Grooms

Jerry L. Grooms, 70, of Washington C.H., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 12, 2011 at 3:45 a.m.at Mount Carmel West, Columbus. He was born on March 18, 1941 in West Union, Ohio, the son of the late Jack and Florence Gaffin Grooms. On October 23, 1974 he married the former Jackie McQuiniff who survives.



Also surviving are his sons; Jeff Grooms of Seaman OH, Jimmy (Angie) Grooms of New Vienna OH, daughter; Rhonda Nutt of Leesburg OH, three sons by marriage; Kevin (Becky) Fout, Tim (Alice) Fout, Chris (Laurie) Fout, grandchildren; Brett, Daisey, Curtis, Ben, Jacob, Heather (Dusty), Meghan (Zac), Ryan, Ben, Jennifer, Ryan, Logan, Zach, great-grandchildren; Emmett, Camden, Makenzie, Ashton, Emma, William, sisters; Peggy (Tom) Riley of Springboro OH, Judy Abbott of West Union OH, Ruth Ross of Dayton, sisters-in-law- Becky (John) Calderone of Frankfort, Brenda McQuiniff, brothers; Larry Grooms of West Union, Tracy (Terri) Grooms of Winchester OH, Mike (Laura) Grooms of Clarksburg, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son; Jerry "Jay" Lester Grooms, and two brothers-in-law; Jim Abbott and Gary McQuiniff.



Jerry was a member of Frankfort and Austin United Methodist Churches. He worked as a carpenter, and farmer. He retired from Hanlin-Rinaldi as a construction supervisor after 45 years.



Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 1 pm in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, with Pastor Neil Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 am until the time of service.
