Jerry Lee King, Sr., 85, of Frankfort, died on Friday evening, February 7, 2025, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born on March 26, 1939, in Frankfort, a son of the late Wilmer and Ruth Raven King. He was blessed with sixty-five years of marriage to his wife, the former Joann Colburn, and she survives.
Also surviving are their five children, Patty (Roger) Draise of Londonderry, Wayne (Kayleen) King of Galloway, Rebecca King of Groveport, Jerry (Valerie) King, Jr., of Hilliard, and Kenneth King of Canton, Georgia. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two sisters, Jane and Ruth, and one brother, Jim. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, one sister, Evelyn, and three brothers, John, Arch, and Tom.
Jerry was a 1957 graduate from Frankfort High School. He worked for over thirty years as a corrections officer for Ross Correctional Institution. He was a member of the Frankfort Baptist Church where he previously served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher.
A funeral service for Jerry will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 12pm, noon, in the Frankfort Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Winks officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Family and friends can visit with Jerry’s family on Wednesday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
