Jessie Mae Pettiford

Jessie Mae Pettiford, 88, of Greenfield, died at 10:05 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2016 at Hearth and Care of Greenfield. She was born on July 14, 1928 in Ross County, the daughter of the late Morris and Dorothy Luckett Wright. On December 11, 1949 she married John William Pettiford and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2003.

Jessie Mae is survived by her four children, Sharon “Teet” Bryant of Frankfort, Gary “Bubb” (Connie) Pettiford of Greenfield, William “Bill” Pettiford of Hillsboro, Marsha (Mike) Patterson of Frankfort, seven grandchildren, Buddy Lee Bryant, Gerrell Pettiford, Billy Knisley, David Knisley, Breeayn Bryant, Tyra Morris, Branden Pettiford, many great and great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Patricia (Resse) Fairrow of Frankfort, Charlene (Bill) Bayless of Xenia, two brothers, Dennis (Terri) Wright and James Wright, both of Chillicothe, one sister-in-law, Joanne Tyler of Frankfort, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Brook Patterson, Michael Patterson, Shawn Bryant, four brothers, and one sister.

Jessie Mae was a member of the Roxabel Second Baptist Church where she sang in the Senior and Missionary Choirs.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 in the Roxabel Second Baptist Church with Pastor Mary Ann Pettiford officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may visit with Jessie Mae’s family at the church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort is serving the family.
