Jo Ann "Jody" Morrison

Jo Ann "Jody" Morrison, formerly of Clarksburg, passed away on Monday January 8, 2024 at Pickaway Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center, Circleville. She was born on Friday, July 17, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Louis S. "Louie" and Peggy A Reichelderfer Morrison.

She is survived by one sister, Carol Ann Morrison Penrod of Clarksburg, a first cousin Jim Morrison and his wife Kelly. Another dear person to Jody was a very special lifelong friend, Lee Dawson. A favorite friend, Mark Davie, has shared many years of friendship with Jody. They enjoyed playing cards together most days.

Jody was a 1971 graduate of Adena High School in Frankfort. During high school she was very athletic as a Cheerleader, a volleyball player, and a member of the track team all four years. She earned the All-SVC League award in her senior year. Jody attended Ohio University-Chillicothe, The Ohio State University and Morehead University. She worked as an accountant and later started the Morrison Tax and Accounting Service which opened in 1981 and served until her stroke in 2010.

Jody has always been an active, vibrant, cheery person who cared for her family, friends and all who she met. She was a dedicated Ohio State fan who went to games and tailgated. Later when she was living at Pickaway Manor, she never missed a Buckeye game on television. Outings with her friends Jody thoroughly enjoyed, especially dinners at Gibby's.

Living at Pickaway Manor for nearly fourteen years, daily Jody wheeled around the facility spreading joy to all she saw. Being very independent, Jody insisted on doing things by herself. It was amazing to see her take her time and get herself into a vehicle although partially paralyzed and having no use of her right dominant arm and hand.

Most of all, Jody loved the Lord. She attended Bible Studies and church services at Pickaway Manor. Jody will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Jody's family wants to thank the Pickaway Manor staff and Hospice who gave her excellent care.

Jody's friends are asked to join her family at a graveside service at Brown's Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg on Saturday. January 13, 2024, at 2 p.m. Following the service, she will be laid to rest beside her mom and dad. No calling hours will be held. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort is serving the family.
