Joan graduated from Belpre High School in 1943. She worked as a switchboard telephone operator for ten years. After their children were born, she became a full-time homemaker. Nannie loved volunteer work and served Red Cross and Hospice for over forty years.
Upon retirement Bob and Nannie traveled in their motorhome and spent over thirty winters in Florida enjoying fresh oranges from the trees in their yard. She was a seventy-five-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Belpre Chapter 541. In 2015, they left Belpre and moved to Greenfield where they built a new home so they could be closer to family. Bob and Joan were members of the First Baptist Church, Greenfield.
