Joe G. Montgomery

Joe G. Montgomery 77 of Bainbridge passed from this life Friday, September 8, 2017 at the VA Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born November 17, 1939 in McLaughlin County, KY the son of the late Lee and Nellie Risner Montgomery. In 1968 he married Nava Brown Montgomery, who survives.

He is also survived by his children, Rodney Montgomery and Cynthia Balsley; grandchildren; sister, Margaret Greenhill of Mansfield; brother, Vandle Montgomery of Bainbridge and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Joe was predeceased by his siblings Belva, Troy, Bonnie and Coy.

Joe was an Army veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post 14 of Bainbridge and the AMVETS Post 61 of Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME of Bainbridge. Burial will follow in Gardner Cemetery. Friends may visit with Joe’s family on Tuesday from Noon
until the time of service at the funeral home.
