John H. Robinson, 81, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born on August 9, 1931, in Fayette Co., the son of the late Howard W. and Laura McGarraugh Robinson.
John is survived by one sister, Catherine Seilkop of Greenfield, two sisters-in-law, Betty Robinson of Greenfield and Wanda Robinson of Washington C.H., nieces, Barbara Burton of Columbus, Jan Wilson of Greenfield, Susan Copeland of Ft. Meyers FL, Anne Quinn of Washington C.H., Margaret Whitaker of Blackey KY, great nieces and nephew, and great-great nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald M. and Edward L. Robinson.
John was a 1949 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School, where he played football. He served in the United States Army from 1956 through 1963 and was stationed at Ft. Sheridan in Chicago IL. He was a former member of the Greenfield Elks and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Greenfield. He was the manager of the Federal Fertilizer Plant in Washington C.H. John also farmed for several years.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 in the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield Reverend Terry Washburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 11a.m. until the time of service.
