Josephine "Joy" L. Gilmore, 87, of Frankfort died at 4:07 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at her home after a brief illness. She was born on March 21, 1925 at Byer, Ohio the daughter of the late Archie and Manie Rinehart Farris. On December 20, 1947 she married W. Gerald "Buck" Gilmore and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1983.

Surviving is her son; William A. "Bill" (Suzanne Z.) Gilmore of Chillicothe, grandchildren; Michelle D. Gilmore, Gregory A. Gilmore and partner Carlos Cain, great grandchildren; William "Billy" C. Grant, Emily A. Adcock, sister cousins; Frances Speakman, Evelyn Butt, Betty Coyle, Sharon Turner, niece and nephew-in-law; Maxine and Larry Gilmore, cousin; Linda Long, numerous nieces and nephews, Henrietta Lane who shared so many books, special neighbor; Frances Counts. She was preceded in death by her brothers; John, Bill, Chuck, and Howdy Farris.

Joy was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, friend, and home maker. She was an avid reader. She loved to play cards and enjoyed bird watching.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 in EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Concord Township EMS, PO BOX 616, Frankfort, OH 45628.
