Jospeh "Chip" Charles Knisley

Joseph Charles Knisley, 56, of Greenfield, died at 11:55 pm on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Veterans Affair Hospital in Chillicothe. He was born on March 3, 1961 in Chillicothe to Sherman and Rola Butler Knisley. On May 23, 2012 he married the former Dianna Kirsch who survives.

Also surviving are his father, Sherman; 4 stepchildren; 9 step grandchildren including his sidekick Jaelyn “Rainbow” Northrup; brothers, Jack (Kathy) Knisley, Gary (Helen) Knisley and Brian (Wanda) Knisley and several nieces and nephews.

Joe is preceded in death by his mother and brother, Mark Knisley.

He was a 1979 graduate of Western Local High School. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Moinester (FF-1097). After serving his country Joseph worked construction as a crane operator. He was a member of the American Legion Post 14 of Bainbridge and the VFW Post 4736 of Greenfield. Joe also liked to fish and sing karaoke.

Funeral services will be 11am Friday, August 25, 2017 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME of Bainbridge. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery with military honors by the Ross County Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Joseph’s family from 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
