Joyce Weaver

Joyce Elaine Weaver, 88, of Frankfort, OH, passed peacefully from this earth on Thursday, January 11, 2024. She was born on August 14, 1935 in Londonderry, OH to John Milton and Ruth Eleanor Elrich Wiltshire. In 1953 she married Leonard Weaver, who preceded her in death.

She is survived and will be missed by one sister, Lee Ann (Bob) Murphy of Largo, FL; one brother, Jim (Carol) Wiltshire of Warren, MI; three daughters, Vickie (Terry) Smith of Austin, TX, Debbie (Jim) Davisson of Richmond Dale, OH, and Janet Cadena of Frankfort, OH; eight grandchildren, Adam (Rebecca) Smith, Jordan Smith, Natalie (Brian) Cooper, Nicholas (Carly) Davisson, Kris Lowery, Charles Lowery, Zeke Lowery, and Alonzo (Kirsten) Cadena; 10 great-grandchildren; and lifelong best friends Phyllis Baker and Sharon Flannery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother "Budgee", a sister Tamsen Wiltshire (Ader), a daughter Marsha Ann Weaver, and a great grandchild Kayden Lowery.

Joyce graduated from Southeastern High School in 1953. She loved attending reunions with her classmates. Joyce retired from the US Post Office. She was the first female rural mail carrier in Ross County. She was a retired bus driver with Adena Schools. She also worked at the Budd Company in Frankfort. Joyce loved working and serving her community. After retirement she worked as a home health aide where she would "take care of people". She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chillicothe for over 30 years where she played the organ and piano. She volunteered on the Concord Township EMS.

She was very outgoing and enjoyed being "on the go". She never met a stranger and was kind to all she met.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chillicothe, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 151 University Drive, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
