Judith L. Speakman

Judith L. Speakman, 85, of Clarksburg, died at 12:40 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Logan Elm Healthcare Center, Circleville. She was born on September 8, 1929 in Pickaway County, the daughter of the late Charles and Una Brooks Higman. She married Richard G. Speakman on December 12, 1950 and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1991.

Surviving are two sons; Steven (Jane) Speakman of Chillicothe, Bob (Julie) Speakman of Clarksburg, four grandchildren; Emily Sharp, Mary Ann Speakman, Jill Davis, Chelsea Herbert, five great grandchildren; Karla, Jack, Ella, Opal, and Hazel, one sister; Maralyn Armentrout of Fremont, OH, one brother; Harland Higman of California and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Judy was Salutatorian for the Class of 1948 of Atlanta High School. She worked in banking for over fifty years and she retired from the Clarksburg Commercial Bank. She was a member of the Clarksburg United Methodist Church and the Clarksburg Garden Club.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Jason Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg. Friends may visit with the Speakman family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
