Judson Douglas "Barney" Holton

Judson D. "Barney" Holton, 69, of Frankfort, died at 9:53p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2012. He was born on December 15, 1942, the son of the late Sebrun Eldridge "Farmer" and Opal LeMaster Holton. On June 26, 1965 he married the former Jeannie Marie White who preceded him in death on September 17, 2006.

He is survived by one son; Michael D. (Monica Clayton) Holton, one daughter; Christina M. (Brian) Kern, all of Frankfort, six grandchildren; Michael, Mark and Lucas Holton, Sasha Till, Aaron and Jenny Kern, one brother; Barry Holton of Frankfort, several nieces, nephews and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Leslie and David Holton.

Barney served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Frankfort Police in 1987, having been the last Marshall the village had. He was a member of the Chillicothe AmVets Post 4, the Joseph Ellsworth White Post 483 American Legion, Frankfort, and the Disabled American Veterans, Chillicothe. Barney loved doing anything outdoors.

In accordance with Barney's wishes, cremation will take place. No services will be held. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans c/o Neil Miller, 115 E. Main Street, Chillicothe Ohio 45601.
