Larry L. Blaney 69 of Bainbridge, Ohio and formerly of Zanesville, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, following an extended illness. He was born October 9, 1943 in Pomeroy, Ohio to the late Margie L. Lemley-Johnson and Arthur O. Allen.
He is survived by his three daughters, Ladawn (Jody) Jasper of Blue Rock; Shela Blaney and Margie Blaney (Nate) Spangler both of Bainbridge; seven grandsons, David and Matthew Jasper, Levi, Tyler and Bryce Blaney, Wyatt Park and Case Pollock; granddaughter, Kylea Spangler; great grandson, Andrew David Jasper; three sisters, Judy Tracy of Zanesville, Kay Ambrus and Bonnie (Dale) Miller both of Newark; several nieces, nephews and his best friend, Larry Setters of Dayton. He will be sadly missed by all.
In addition to his parents his stepmother, Lucille Allen and two brothers, Ronnie Allen and Lowell Neighmeyer, preceded him in death.
Larry was a retired driver for ABF Freight Systems, a former news reporter for the Columbus Dispatch and Lancaster Eagle-Gazette. He was an US Air Force veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 14 of Bainbridge. Larry was a man of many trades and was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. GO BUCKS!!!
The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Zoran Naumovski and the staff at Adena Regional for the care Larry received.
Friends may call from Noon until 2 pm Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home of Bainbridge where services will begin at 2 pm with Rev. Aaron Satterfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery with military honors by the Ross County Honor Guard.
