Lillian Rose Clay, 91, of Greenfield, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 4:30a.m at St. Catherine's Manor in Washington Court House. She was born September 14, 1923 in London, England, the daughter of the late Henry and Elen Rolfe. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Clay in 1987.
Lillian is survived by one daughter; Jacquie Blaser of Greenfield, two granddaughters; Kelly Hodgson and Leann (Ron) Barber ,two grandsons; Randy (Christine) Johnson and Chris Candice) Johnson, seven great-granddaughters, five great-great-granddaughters; five great-great grandsons and a great-great grandson on the way; special friends; Wendy Coonrod, Jill Hammond and Deb Rhonemus. The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Catherine's Manor and Hospice of Fayette County for the wonderful care that each extended to Lillian.
She is preceded in death by one daughter; Lesley Scheller in 2006, one brother; one grandson Mark Hodgson in 2012; son-in law Duane Scheller in 2004 and two friends; Mildred Truitt and Mary "Pete" Miller.
She was a graduate of the Chaucer School in London, England, had served in the English Army during WWII and was a member of St. George's Church of London, England. Lillian retired after thirty years of service at the U.S. Shoe Factory, Greenfield.
Funeral service will be Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00a.m in the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield with Pastor Keith Clary officiating. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may visit with Lillian's family on Friday from 6-8p.m. at the funeral home.
