Linda Sue Rawlings

Linda Sue (Colburn) Rawlings, 62, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. She was born on January 3, 1950 to the late Herbert and Emma Colburn. Having lost her parents at a young age, Linda was then lovingly raised by her sister and brother-in-law, Albie and the late James Gallaugher. On September 20, 1970 she married her loving husband of 42 years, Daniel Rawlings, and he survives.

Together they have three sons; Eric (Johanna), Chad (Heather), Scott (Natalie), six grandchildren; Taylor, Rachel, Clayton, Cody, Alayna, and Grant. Also surviving are sisters; Nellie (Keith) Zimmerman, Joanne (Jerry) King, Norma Williams, sister-in-law; Alberta Colburn, brother; Herbert (Debbie) Colburn, sister-in-law; Frances Thatcher, brother-in-law; James (Judy) Zimmerman, four special nephews whom she thought of as brothers; Dave (Vickie) Gallaugher, Rick (Terri) Gallaugher, Mike (Brenda) Gallaugher, Jeff (Kelly) Gallaugher. She was preceded in death by her brother; Floyd Colburn, brother-in-law; Harold Williams, brother-in-law; Ronald Thatcher, and father and mother-in-law; Charles and Retha Rawlings.

Linda was a 1968 graduate of Adena High School. She received her Bachelor degree in education from Ohio University. She recently retired from Zane Trace Local Schools where she was an elementary teacher for over 28 years. She attended First Wesleyan Church and Acts Believe Church. She loved weekend getaways, camping, and shopping for her grandchildren. Most of all she loved her family. Her pride and joy was her husband, Dan, her three sons, three daughters-in-law, and her beloved six grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 22, at 11 am in the First Wesleyan Church, Chillicothe with Fred Fox and BJ Dailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown's Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort on Friday, from 5-8 pm.
