Lois Evelyn Peabody

Lois Evelyn Shoemaker Peabody 79, of Bainbridge went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at her residence. She was born November 24, 1938 in Ross County the daughter of the late George Edwin “Tim” and Mae Katherine Shoemaker. On August 30, 1969 she married Orvil Peabody who passed from this life November 28, 2008.

She is survived by her husband Paul McDorman; five children, Ralph L. (Victoria) Gallaugher of TN, Danny R. Gallaugher, Orvil (Janine) Peabody and Greg A. (Margaret) Peabody all of Bainbridge, OH and Christina M. Foley of TX; two step-children, Pamela (Barry) Mullins and Perry (Stephanie) McDorman; 19 grandchildren, Jarrod (Nancy) Peabody, TX, Erica (Eric) Fudge, Wilmington, OH, Jessica (Trey) Jackson, MS, Andrea (Scott) Anderson, Leesburg, OH, Chad (Jamie) Peabody, Greenfield, OH, Blake Garrison Foley, TX, Alyssa Foley, TX, Ash-leigh (David) Sellars TN, Brandon Gallaugher, TN, Danielle (Grant) Trimble, Jackson, OH, Jeremy (Kat) Workman, Wilmington, OH and Raython Gallaugher, CO, Zack Mullins, West Chester, OH, Mae (John) Durkee, Cincinnati, OH, Tyler Mullins, FL, Reece, Anna, Kaius and Elle McDorman, KY: 20 great grandchildren; three sisters, Norma Jean Sollars, Pat (Gene) Wisecup and Wanda Caplinger all of Chillicothe, OH; brother, Homer “Duke” (Sue) Rinehart of Bainbridge, OH and several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband Lois was preceded in death by a sister, Eunice Ratliff: brother, George Shoemaker and brothers-in-law, Kenny Sollars and Lonnie Caplinger

Lois was a member of the Chapel of Hope of Greenfield, OH, and she retired from Rainsboro Elementary, where she was loved by all the students and staff.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Chapel of Hope, Greenfield with Pastor Randy Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6 pm Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Chapel of Hope 12986 State Rt 41, Greenfield, OH 45123 or the Hospice of Hope 215 Hughes Blvd, Mt Orab, OH 45154.
