Lucy E. Cameron 93, of Hillsboro, Ohio died in her sleep 12:31 am August 12, 2014 at her home in Hillsboro.
She was born March 26, 1921 in Highland County to the late Salmon and Ruby Pearl Shelton. On June 10, 1939 she married John W. Cameron, who passed March 10, 1993.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy Wick (Don) of Lake Waynoka and Sandy Ferneau (John) of Cynthiana; two sons, Jim (Kate) and Danny (Sue) of Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Jane Shelton of Hillsboro and Sara Ralph of Greenfield.
She was predeceased by a son, John; daughter, Betty; two grandsons; one great granddaughter; five brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Cameron was a retired Deputy Recorder of Pike County, member of the Highland County Democratic Party, was past Worthy Matron of Leighton Chapter 522 Order of the Eastern Star, member of Hillsboro Eastern Star Lodge Chapter 441, member of the Hillsboro Church of christ and a member of Hillsboro Senior Citizens. She was a member of a quilting club and had many quilting friends, and a special dog, Buster Brown.
Friends may visit with the Cameron family on Friday from 1-3 pm at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home of Bainbridge. A graveside service in the Cynthiana Cemetery officiated by John Porter will follow the visitation.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Community Care Hospice 200 R Gordon Drive Wilmington, Ohio 45177.
