M. Diane Shaeffer

M. Diane Shaeffer, 64, of Frankfort died on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 7pm at her home. She was born on October 17, 1947 in Frankfort, the daughter of the late Eugene and Martha G. Hyer Patterson. On November 30, 1968 she married Ronald C. Shaeffer, who survives.

Also surviving are her two sons; Timothy L. Shaeffer of Chillicothe, Greg A. (Tanya) Shaeffer of Liberty Township, five grandchildren; Gage A., Kross A., Kendyl B., Jeremiah P., Lanette N., nieces, nephews, many close friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by one sister; Marilyn J., and one brother; Tony L.. Her family gives thanks to Cheryl Mallow and all of the nurses at Adena Hospice who assisted with Diane's care.

Diane was a 1965 graduate of Frankfort High School, and she received an Associate degree from Chillicothe Business College. In 1978 she received her license in property, casualty and life insurance. In 1980 Diane opened her own business which operated under the name Shaeffer Insurance until it merged to become Shaeffer & Simmons Insurance in 1996. Diane retired in 2007. She was a member of the Ross County Farm Bureau and of the Greenfield Church of Christ, where she enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher. Diane enjoyed gardening and being a third grade reading mentor at Adena Local Schools.

Funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Danny Dodds and Bill Requardt officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 pm. Memorial contributions are suggested to Adena Hospice, 111 W.
