Marabel Kay Bode Drummond, 78, of Clarksburg, passed away on April 17, 2014 at Pickaway Manor, Circleville after a brief illness, with family by her side. She was the only child of Doyen and Kathleen Weston Bode born in Adelphi, Ohio on December 4, 1935.
She went to school in Adelphi for eleven years and when Adelphi School was closed in 1952 her senior year was at Laurelville and she graduated at the head of the class in 1953.
She attended Ohio University in Athens and received her teaching degree called a student cadet after three years. She taught in Williamsport and Salt Creek Schools. She helped start a kindergarten group at the Williamsport United Methodist Church for one year.
She married David Carson Drummond on June 10, 1956 and moved to their new farm and embraced country life and raised three daughters. They were married for fifty one years until he passed on January 31, 2008. They enjoyed traveling and attending school events and grandchildren's sporting events, concerts, and musicals over the years.
She helped David with Scioto Oliver, the family business in Chillicothe before it was sold in 1999.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Williamsport, Pickaway Farm Bureau, fifty seven year member of Clarksburg Grange, Ross Co. Pomona Grange, Ohio State and National Grange. Past member of the Sorosis and Child Study League.
Marabel enjoyed playing the piano and was known for her great cooking and best of all her award winning homemade German Chocolate cake. She loved sharing the farm and woods with family and friends for gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, maternal grandparents, Harry and Jennie Koch Weston, and paternal grandparents, Cecil and Lessel Brokaw Bode, all of Adelphi, and in-laws, Lloyd and Margie Daughtery Drummond.
She will be greatly missed by her three daughters and sons-in-law who survive; Connie Sue (Larry Joe) Angles, Sandra Kay (Tom) Adams, Joy Lyn (Paul) Sharrett, all of Clarksburg. Grandchildren, David Joseph (DJ) Angles and wife; Michael (Leslie Stanley) Angles; Deputy Sheriff Amanda Kay Angles; Kyle and Kory Adams, and step grandson, Nicholas (Michelle Thomas) Sharrett, three great grandchildren, Landon Angles, Makiah Angles, and Wesley Sharrett, and faithful canine, Aspen, and feline, Scooter. She is also survived by an aunt, Virginia Bode Pritchard of Adelphi.

Services will be held at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, FRANKFORT, on Tuesday, April 22, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Springlawn Cemetery, Williamsport. Calling hours are Monday, April 21, from 5 to 8 PM with Clarksburg Grange service to be held at 8 PM.
