Marcella L. "Marcy" Core

Marcella "Marcy" Lorraine Core, 58, went to be home with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 3:07 pm. She passed away at the Ohio State University Hospital following a brief illness. Marcy was born on Tuesday, May 25, 1965, the fourth of five children to Harley and Secelia Lee. She is survived by her mother, Secelia Lee, siblings, Deborah Lee, Dennis Lee, Rosey (Dave) Hooton, special daughter, Megan Purdin, as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her dad Harley, brother Bob Lee, sister-in-law Beth Lee, and a nephew, Ryan Hooton.

On March 23, 1985, Marcy married the love of her life, Steve Core, who survives. Also surviving are their children, Sara (Jeb) Ludwick, Mandy (Caleb) Clark and Megan (David) Halcomb. Marcy filled her husband and children's lives with love and laughter. Her singing and dancing echoed through their home, and she took charge of making many precious memories that they will hold on to fiercely.

Marcy was cherished and adored by her grandchildren; Jayden, Jackson, Landon, Hadley, Leah, Derek, Makenlee, and Brooks. She loved nothing greater than being with her grandkids - never turning down a board game, trip to the zoo, reading stories, or providing them with sugar. She poured out her "Mamaw magic" as she called it, to all kids who came to her home.

Marcy was a lifelong member of the Antioch Christian Church and kept an unwavering faith throughout her life. As a retired teacher, she always loved helping others through her knowledge and experience. Marcy was an avid quilter and was a beloved friend with her quilting buddies. She loved animals and could be found anywhere there were puppies. Her love and compassion spilled over and to know her was to absolutely love and be in awe of her.

In keeping with Marcy's wishes, a graveside service will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 1 p.m.. Ronald Ater will officiate the service. Marcy also requested no calling hours be held. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, is serving the family.
