Margaret Kathryn "Katie" Brown

Margaret Kathryn (Katie) Brown, age 102, of Georgetown, KY, died Saturday, September 5, 2015. Mrs. Brown was born February 3, 1913 in Bainbridge, OH. She is the daughter of the late Fred Schmidt Jr. and the late Alma Knisley Schmidt.

Before marrying her husband, late William H. Brown, she worked for Dr. Haas in Bainbridge, OH. After marriage she served her family as a homemaker. Sister Brown worshiped at Central Church of Christ and Northside Church of Christ. Mrs. Brown enjoyed to read as a hobby.

She is survived by one daughter: Lynda Goodwin (Rodney) and one son: Gary Brown (Nancy); she also has four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchilden, two step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren

Predeceased by her beloved husband: William H. Brown and brother and sisters: Edward Schmidt, Ruth Kendall and Helen Amole

The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home with Jim Hardy officiating. Burial will be at Bainbridge Cemetery on Thursday, September 10 at 3:00 pm.

Visitation will be preceding the service Thursday, September 10 from 12- 2 PM at Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Goodwin, Keith Goodwin, Russ Brown, Dana Schmidt, Anthony Amole, and Dale Mark. Honorary Bearer will be George Davis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of The Bluegrass.
