Margaret J. Cokonougher

Margaret J. Cokonougher 82 of Bainbridge went to be with her Lord 8:41 pm, Sunday, January 23, 2011. She was born April 15, 1928 in Ross County the daughter of the late Samuel Jahile and Nellie Maranda Hoffman Kennedy.



She is survived by five children, Michael (Donna) Haines, Jan (Rick) Binkowski, Inez (Dusty) Ruth, Maranda (Tim) Irvin and Thomas (Karen) Haines; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; special cousins, Royal (Naomi) Kennedy and Richard (Susan) Kennedy both of Kansas; and her loyal cat, Isabella Florence.



In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Forest E. Haines; husband, Elwood L. Cokonougher; infant son, Joseph Jahile; and son, Joe Haines.



Margaret was a member and former Ohio State President of the Ladies Grand Army of the Republic. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3762 in Washington Court House, she was honored for her extended hours of volunteer service at the Chillicothe Veterans Affairs, she volunteered at the dental museum and the Greenfield Adena Hospital and she loved to travel Ohio and visit her many friends.



Her many interest included history, sewing, cooking and quilting. Margaret had won several prizes for her quilting and she recently donated the quilt top for the 2011 Paxton Area Life Squad quilt raffle.



A memorial service will be held 3 pm Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the East Monroe United Methodist Church with Pastor Charles Parrish officiating. In accordance with MargaretA's wishes there will be no visitation and interment will be in the North Cedar Vale Cemetery, Kansas.
