Margaret R Hammond

Margaret R. Hammond, 100, of Frankfort, died at 6:10p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born on April 3, 1914 in Ross County, the daughter of the late Delbert and Clara Warner Garrison. Her husband, Oscar W. Hammond, preceded her in death on May 13, 1983.

She is survived by her son, Roger (Ramona) Hammond of Frankfort, two grandchildren, Aaron Hammond of Jeffersonville OH, and Emily (Josh) Preston of Gallatin TN, two great grandchildren, Katelyn and Holden Preston, and several nieces. She was preceded in death by one sister, Charlene Flesher, and one brother, Robert Garrison.

Margaret was a 1932 graduate of Frankfort High School and had worked in the canteen at the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe. She was a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church and had served as President of the Joseph Ellsworth White Post 483 Frankfort American Legion Auxiliary for almost twenty years. Her family gives special thanks to the therapists and caregivers at Majestic Heights of Traditions, especially Lori and Mindy.

Friends are asked to gather at 11a.m., on Monday, April 21, 2014 in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort for a graveside service with Pastor Neil Foster officiating. In accordance with Margaret's wishes, no calling hours will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Frankfort American Legion, c/o Mickey Howe, 190 Overlake Dr, Frankfort OH 45628.
