Marsha J Schmidt

Marsha Jean (Rodgers) Schmidt of Delaware, Ohio, formerly of Chillicothe and Frankfort, Ohio, found peace and comfort with the Lord on the morning of May 6, 2013 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. She was born on January 30, 1942 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, the daughter of the late Hamilton Rodgers and Marjorie Rodgers Rauch. On August 22, 1962 in Evanston, Illinois, she married Glen Schmidt who survives. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last August.

Also surviving are her six children; Steven (Martha) Schmidt of Delaware OH, Stephanie (Duane) Cornett of Beavercreek, Scott (Kathleen) Schmidt of Frankfort, Skyler (Jamie) Schmidt of Highland Heights OH, Stacie (Willie) Smith of Frankfort, and Stuart Schmidt of Chillicothe OH, grandchildren; Kalene and Braden Schmidt, Michael and Shelby Cornett, Logan, Makayla and Jacob Smith, Ethan and Caden Schmidt, and Savannah and Isaiah Schmidt, great-grandchildren; Tiernney Wood and Noah Cornett, special friends; Dave McMillen and Phoebe McKell, Jane Dunn, JoAnn Benner, Merv and Tara Keeton. She was preceded in death by her sister; Chrissi Bachi.

Marsha was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed knitting, making afghans and other gifts for family and friends; she also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and following the activities of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marsha had past involvement as a track and field official with the Ohio High School Athletic Association, USA Track and Field and Special Olympics of Ohio. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Calling hours will be held in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m., with funeral service following at 7 p.m.. In accordance with Marsha's wishes, cremation will follow. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Special Olympics of Ohio, 3303 Winchester Pike, Columbus OH 43232.
