Martha McCollister

Martha L. McCollister, 97, of Clarksburg, died at 1:23pm on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Court House Manor, Washington Court House. She was born on Monday, May 10, 1926, the daughter of the late John and Alpha Detty Haynes. On January 18, 1947, she married Kenneth E. McCollister, who preceded her in death on July 22, 2015.      

Martha is survived by four children, Linda Sue (Ross) Patton of Barboursville WV, Nelson (Connie) McCollister of Frankfort, Patti McCollister of Frankfort, David Lyle (Michelle) McCollister of Clarksburg, 8 grandchildren, Amy, Brian, Beth, Mark, Melody, Shane, Patrick, Jesse, 20 great-grandchildren, one sister, Phoebe Kuskowski of Lebanon TN, and one sister-in-law, Betty J. Haynes of Washington Court House. Martha was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Catherine Butler, Betty Estep, brothers, John Haynes, Robert Haynes, and twin siblings, Joseph and Josephine Haynes.

Martha attended Fayette Bible Church. She loved flowers, basket making, reading, pulling weeds, and doing tolle paintings. Martha helped with many bible clubs and Sunday School classes over the years.

A funeral service for Martha will be held at 1pm on Thursday, December 14, 2023, in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Tony Garren officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends and family are invited to visit with Martha's family on Thursday from 11am until the time of service.
