Martha M. Posey

Martha M. Posey, 87, of Frankfort, passed away Friday evening, July 28, 2023, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born on Saturday, September 21, 1935, in Ross County, a daughter of the late William and Lenora Buck Fout. On March 20, 2005, she married Billy Joe Posey, and he survives.

Martha is also survived by her children, Belinda (Earl) Kincaid of Whitehall, James (Virginia) McCray, Jr. of Chillicothe, Kathryn (Gary) Warthen of Spokane Valley, Washington, Douglas (Lori) McCray of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Patsy (Chad) Gibbs of Provo, Utah, fourteen grandchildren, five step grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, three sisters, Janet (Ralph) Elliott of Chillicothe, Mary Miller of Frankfort, Vicky (Gary) Merriman of Millageville, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James McCray, one sister and brother-in-law, Sharon (Mitchell) McCray, and two brothers, Marvin W. Fout and Charles W. Fout.

Martha was a 1953 graduate of Frankfort High School. She retired from Calmar in Washington Court House, where she worked in quality control. She was a member of Frankfort United Methodist Church, and she taught Sunday School for many years.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with her son James McCray, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Family and friends can visit with Martha's family on Monday evening at the funeral home, from 6 to 8 p.m..
