Martin Lee "Marty" Putnam, 54, of Frankfort, passed from this life on September 11, 2015 at his home. Marty was born on July 27, 1961 in Chillicothe, to Kelvin and June (Bower) Putnam.
Surviving are his parents, his children whom he lived for; Krista Putnam and Megan Rue (Adam) of Frankfort, and PFC Clay Putnam of Camp Lejeune North Carolina; the love of his life, granddaughter, Payton Lee Anderson of Frankfort; brother and best friend Randy Putnam of Clarksburg, sisters Angela Putnam of Frankfort and Kelly Putnam Black of Chillicothe. He is also survived by a special friend and cousin Tracy Bower, his faithful dog Butters, four nieces and one nephew, two great nieces and two great nephews, as well as many aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Mazie Bower and Wallace and Julia Putnam, and a great nephew, A.J. Corey.
Marty graduated from Edward Lee McClain High School in 1979. After working in the oil fields in Oklahoma and serving in the U.S. Army he returned to his beloved home where he farmed until two years ago. Marty spent the last three weeks of his life with his loved ones and picking flowers for his granddaughter, Payton.
In keeping with Marty's wishes, cremation will take place and no calling hours will be observed. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of his life at Marty's home on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 6p.m.. The family kindly requests that no flowers be sent, and memorial contributions be made in Marty's name to the American Cancer Society, Central Region Office, 5555 Frantz Rd, Dublin, Ohio 43017.
