Mary Lou Tangeman, 82, of Frankfort, died Thursday afternoon, July 28, 2011 at her home. She was born on May 29, 1929 in Austin, OH, the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Marie Hollar Sever. She married Ralph Tangeman on July 24, 1948 and he preceded her in death on March 8, 1997.
Mary Lou is survived by fifteen children: Helen (Denny) Norris, Frankfort, Ralph E. (Sharon) Tangeman of Somerville, OH, Barbara (John) Hyer, Patricia Hyer, Margaret (Bob) Beach, Charles (Trish) Tangeman, Martha (Chuck) Tangeman, Gail Keys, Clare McConnell, all of Dayton, Marian (Paul) Bennett of Trenton, Joann (Todd) Jones, Christine (Pat) Smith, Kelly (Steve) Sarmir, Janet Tangeman all of Dayton, Rachel (Jeff) Downs of Chillicothe, 38 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, three sisters; Vivian "Til" Smith of Fairborn, Virginia Bradley of Springboro, Lib Sowers of Washington C.H., one brother; James (Marilyn) Sever of Washington C.H., one sister-in-law; Sue Sever of Frankfort. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Kathryn, one sister, Pauline Starkey and four brothers; John, Bill, Mart and Poke Sever.
Mary Lou retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital, Dayton where she worked as a Dietary Aide. She was a member St. Benignus Catholic Church in Greenfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Benignus Catholic Church, Greenfield on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Mike Paraniuk as celebrant. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery, Dayton with Father Chris Coleman officiating. Calling hours will be held at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
