MARY ANN (VORE) WARNING, age 86, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Carl Matthew and Kim Warning, they along with her son, Chuck Warning, had been caring for her. Ohio Hospice of Fayette County has been caring for her recently, along with family, and their support was critical for her care and comfort.
Mary Ann was born on April 16, 1937, in Ross County, Ohio to McKenzie Tullys and Opal Rose (Everhart) Vore. She was a 1955 graduate of Bainbridge High School where she was very active during her school years and as an alumna.
Mary Ann had various careers throughout her lifetime including Kay Jewelers, Carroll Halliday Ford, Fayette County Unemployment Office, Parrett Insurance, and her favorite, watching her four grandchildren. Mary Ann also volunteered at local Blood Drives and as a poll worker on Election Day. She was a member of Hickory Lane Church of Christ and loved her church family.
Her passion was watching her children and grandchildren in all their various activities, as she was a faithful mother and grandmother at any and all events. She loved watching any sports and her two favorite professional athletes were Larry Bird of the Boston Celtics and Travis Shaw, a Major League Baseball hometown hero, with whom she shared her birthday.
She married Edward Lee Warning on December 29, 1956, who preceded her in death on July 11, 2016, as well as a son, Mark Edward Warning on July 8, 1958. Her sister, June M. Adams and her brother, Mac F. Vore also preceded her in death.
She is survived by four children, Mary Lee (Steve) Daugherty, Harold McKenzie Warning, Charles Edward Warning, Carl Matthew (Kim) Warning. Her grandchildren, Dustin Edward (Beth) Daugherty, Mary Alyssa Daugherty (Kyle Fenner), Christopher Ryan Warning (Sara Lentz), and Chelsea Nicole Warning. Her great-granddaughter, Evie Louise Daugherty, also survives.
To honor her wishes, cremation will take place and a graveside service will be held 1 pm Tuesday, December 19, 2023, in the Bainbridge Cemetery, Bainbridge, Ohio.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home in Bainbridge, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Fayette County, 222 North Oakland Avenue, Washington CH, OH 43160.
