Melody K. "Bubbie" Carroll Campbell, 56, of Clarksburg, died at 4:22 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at her home following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on October 28, 1956 in Washington C.H., Ohio, the daughter of the late Major Allen and Alice Marie Teets Carroll.
Surviving are her two sisters; Cheryl "Fred" (Derek) Mallow of Chillicothe, Connie (Jerry) Colburn of Gallipolis, OH, one brother; Donnie (Jackie) Carroll of Clarksburg, many nieces and nephews and a special friend; Mike Williams of Clarksburg. She was preceded in death by a great nephew; Jayden Caldwell.
Bubbie was a 1974 graduate of Adena High School. She received an Associate Degree in Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at the Pickaway Correctional Institution. She loved horseback riding and trail riding at Scioto Trails, Tar Hollow and Paint Creek Lake Park. She loved being outdoors and riding motorcycles.
She loved to take walks and she said walking was her way of defying cancer. Bubbie was an inspiration to many people who were battling cancer or was a cancer survivor. Her determination was so strong all the way to the end. She will be missed by all those who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Martin Denes officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
