Melvin Burl Elliott

Melvin B. Elliott 90, of Bainbridge died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at his home. He was born February 27, 1925 in Pike County the son of the late Howard and Elma Knisley Elliott. On October 7, 1949 he married the former Barbara E. Wilson, who preceded him in death May 10, 2011.

He is survived by his brother, Ralph (Lee) Elliott of Bainbridge; sisters-in-law, Juanita Elliott, Carolyn (Terry) Taylor and Kathy (James) Armstrong all of Bainbridge, Rebecca Self of Manchester and Alice (Jack) Peters of Washington CH; several nieces and nephews and many special Mennonite neighbors.

In addition to his parents and wife Melvin was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee Elliott, 2 sisters, Maxine Davis and Charlene and 3 brothers, Wilson, Paul and Darrell Elliott.

Melvin was an Army veteran of WW II, a member of Fairview Chapel and he attended Cynthiana Church of Christ in Christian Union.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm Monday, November 9, 2015 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge with Rev. Robert King officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Ross County Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Melvin's family on Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
