Nancy L. Daugherty

Nancy L. Daugherty, 88, of Greenfield, died at 10:32 A.M. on Monday, August 8, 2016 at her home. She was born on July 23, 1928 in Highland County. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Grace Redkey Mercer. In 1948 she married Edward A. Daugherty who preceded her in death on April 14, 1993.
Nancy is survived by one son; Sam Daugherty of Big Rapid, MI, five grandchildren; Jennifer Gaylord, Kate, Zach, Aaron and Jake Daugherty, three great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and two sisters; Lydia Snyder of Cincinnati and Dora Smith of Greenfield. She is preceded in death by one daughter; Cindy Rison, three sisters; Ruth, Virginia and Louise, three brothers; Alva, Pete and Jack.
Nancy was a 1946 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. She worked at the U.S. Shoe Corporation for thirteen years and then later returned with Ed and together they ran the cafeteria for five years. Nancy was a long time member of The First United Methodist Church in Greenfield and was a member of the Greenfield Area Hospital Auxiliary and managed their rummage sale.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 in the Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may visit with Nancy's family at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
