Nora Louise Vandemark

Nora Louise Shoemaker Vandemark, 72, of Chillicothe, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at home. Nora was born July 25, 1938 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Reuben Clark Shoemaker and Blanche L. Pollock Shoemaker, who survives. On December 23, 1956 she married the eternal love of her life, George T. "Bob" Vandemark, who survives.



Also surviving are daughters, Tambrea Kay "Tammy" (Timothy) Holden, Phyllis Louise Dunsieth, and Barbara Danniel Vandemark all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Travis L. Holden, Heather L. Dunsieth and Richmond Parks, Trent K. Holden, Colton F. "Colt" Cox and Brandi Gilispie, Casey T. Cox and Nikki Porter, Tasha L. Holden and Lou Parks, Cody W. Cox and Lindsay Kneisley, Tobin D. and Emilee Holden, Elijah "Eli" L. Hurless, and Daniel Ray Moore; great grandchildren, Lily K. Parks, Anna M. Parks, Keegan F. M. Cox, Talia R. Cox, Alayna L. Parks, and Fiona A. Parks; sisters, Ginger L. Long and friend Tom Johnson, Linda L. and Donald Carroll, Connie L. Bethel, Myrna C. Schneider and friend Steven Letenyei, and Jackie and Danny Schobelock; many nieces, nephews, and great- nieces and nephews; special friends, Sister Mary Cabrini and Sister Michael Marie; and many other special friends. In addition to her father, Reuben, she was predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Minnie Marie Childs Vandemark, and an infant son.



Nora graduated from Twin School in 1957. She was a member of the Bainbridge United Methodist Church and a former certified lay speaker. She served over 20 years as a volunteer member and captain of the Twin Township Fire & Life Squad. She was employed for many years by the Ross County Extension Agency and the Ross County Emergency Management Agency. She was an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed baking, horses and horseback riding, gardening, and crafts. She was a member of numerous organizations in her community throughout her life. Nora dedicated her life to God and her family. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by many.



Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Bainbridge United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge
