Norman G. Givens

Norman G. A"HoseyA" Givens, 85, Frankfort, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011. He was born October 10, 1925 in Waverly, the youngest of 7, to Andrew S. and Bertha Besch Givens. On January 26, 1952, he married Anna M. A"PatA" Dorsey, who preceded him in death on January 4, 1997. On June 10, 1998, he married Ethelann A"SkipA" Hathaway, who survives.



He leaves behind sons: Eric (Cathy), Chris (Pam), Tim (Judy), David (Robin), Marty all of Frankfort and Patrick Givens of Kingston, daughters: Toni (Delbert) Glandon, Marianne (Scott) Guthrie of Frankfort, step-sons Mark Hathaway of Frankfort and Michael Hathaway of Los AngelesCA, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.



Norman was a graduate of Beaver High School. He started Givens Excavating in 1946. He attended meteorology school in Oklahoma and was an avid flyer and truly enjoyed his time spent with friends in the Frankfort Corner Restaurant.



He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, both parents, siblings, and step-son Ed Hathaway.



A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 17, 2011at 11 a.m. in St. PeterA's Catholic Church, Chillicothe with Father William Hahn as Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. MargaretA's Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 5-8pm at Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Concord Township Emergency Squad, PO Box 616, Frankfort, OH 45628.
