Patricia A. "Pat" Gallaugher Martin

June 18, 1937 — May 28, 2023

Pat Gallaugher Martin, 85, of Clarksburg, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 28, 2023 with her loving family by her side. She was born on Friday, June 18, 1937, in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late Leslie L. and Thelma L. Orihood Gallaugher.  

Pat is survived by two daughters, Denise Kern of Clarksburg and Debbie (Kevin) Roll of Frankfort. Also surviving are seven grandchildren whom she loved very much; Jami (JR) Garrison, Jeff (Angela) Kern, Nick (Kelsie Laughlin) Milliken, Clay (Cadie) Roll, Mallory (Casey) Wood, Anna (Noah) Daniels and Jenna (Logan Mossbarger) Martin, seven great-grandchildren; Jarrett and Jace Garrison, Maggie, Macy and Maren Wood, Oliver Daniels and Cobe Roll who is due in August. Pat is survived by her sister, Barbara Kretzer of Bainbridge, two brothers, Gerald (Beatrice) Gallaugher of Chillicothe, Bill ( Karen) Gallaugher of Delaware, a brother-in-law, Lloyd (Bev) Graves of Chillicothe, sisters-in-law, Albie Gallaugher and Marilyn Martin Oliver, both of Washington C.H. and many special nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jim, her son, James “Sam” Martin, son-in-law, Terry Kern, in laws, Otis and Annie Fellenstein Martin, sister, Cindy Graves, brother, James Gallaugher, brother and sister in-laws, Bill and Helen Martin Marsh, Glen and Nell Martin Ater, George and Ruth Martin Skinner, Hoyt and Helen Martin, Joe Martin and Don Kretzer and several special nephews and a niece.

Pat was a 1956 graduate of Clarksburg High School where she was a Clarksburg Eagle cheerleader. She was a member of the Clarksburg United Methodist Church. Pat retired after 30 years of service from the Clarksburg/Adena School District where she was a teacher’s aide and bus driver. She loved being with children in the classroom and on the bus. After retirement, she worked at Mallow Clothing Store in Clarksburg for many years.

Pat loved to dance and playing cards with her friends. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeye fan and she loved her Adena Warriors. Most of all, she loved to meet people no matter where she was.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Clarksburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Vera Welker officiating. Following the service, Pat will be laid to rest beside her husband, Jim, and their son, Sam, in Brown’s Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the church in Clarksburg. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME of Frankfort is serving the family.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Berger ER, Berger ICU, Adena ER, NCR Rehab and Shaffer staff, Deerfield and Concord Twp EMS. A special thank you to her family, friends, her Garrison Compound family, her friends and staff of Ebright Funeral Home and the National Church Residences Hospice and Comfort Care team for all the love, kindness and support you showed our mom during this difficult time. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Please remember that she loved each of you. God bless you all!
