Phillip Allen Ward Sr

Phillip Allen Ward Sr., 71, of South Salem, died at 5:05p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at his home. He was born on January 24, 1943 in Chillicothe, the son of the late Arthur E. and Edna D. Beechler Ward. On September 4, 1965 he married the former Kathy Francis who survives.

Also surviving are three children, Phillip (Kendra) Ward Jr., Charles (Tracey) Ward, all of Greenfield, and Amy (Michael) Drake of Hillsboro, six grandchildren, Brandi, Amber, Jeremy and Andy Ward, Rylee Ward, and McKinzie Drake, three great-grandchildren, Emily, Cadence and Lexi, one sister, Margee (Ralph) Yoakem of Marshall, and one sister-in-law, Renate Ward of South Salem. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Perry, three brothers, Roger, Maynard and Donny Ward, and one sister-in-law, Melinda Ward.

Phillip worked for Ferno Washington Manufacturing in Wilmington, and retired in 2009. He attended the Nazarene Church and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. His family would like to thank Maynard Sexton, Scott (Lori) Wright, Derrick (Ronnie) Nelson, Harley (Bonnie) Rayburn, Jessie (Pat) Pendleton, Tony (Evelyn) Pinkerton and Rick Case.

In accordance with Phillip's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held. The ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield, is serving the family.
