Phyllis Jo Everhart

Phyllis Jo Everhart, 91, of Frankfort, died at 6:10p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born on August 10, 1923 in a home on Church Street in Frankfort Ohio, the daughter of the late Strawder and Martha "Babe" Emerich McNeill. On November 9, 1941, she married Richard A. Everhart, who preceded her in death on November 11, 1985.

Surviving are three children, Melody (Wayne) DeWitt, Jon William (Lois) Everhart, and Dirck (Marian) Everhart, all of Frankfort, grandchildren, Travis, Blake, Justin, Jarrod, Preston Everhart & Casey DeWitt, step grandson, Ryan Furniss, great-grandson, Titus Everhart and two great-grandsons expected soon. She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Mae McNeill.

Jo was a 1941 graduate of the Frankfort High School and attended the Ohio State University for commercial art. She went on to receive real estate education from Ohio University, Chillicothe. She was a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church and the Mary Martha Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Frankfort Garden Club, and a 72 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Concord Chapter 520 & then later Chapter 419. Jo was a charter member and trustee of the Frankfort Historical Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Ross County. Jo was an active and vocal member of the Frankfort community, and will be sorely missed.

On March 15, 1973, Jo received her Realtor license. She worked in a realty office in Washington Court House, and then opened her own office in a trailer in her backyard in Frankfort under EJ Plott Agency. In September 1992 Jo opened the downtown Frankfort office under Coldwell Banker Realty Champions, Inc. and later joined The ERA Martin Family. In her more than forty years as a realtor, Jo received many awards, including the Emeritus Award from the National Association of Realtors.

A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015, in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, with Sister Michael officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may visit with the Everhart family at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2 to 6p.m.. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at 6p.m..
