Phyllis R. Acton Lane, of Frankfort, passed away peacefully at her home at 1:40 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023. She was reunited in heaven with her husband, Gar, who always thought of her as his "Turtle Dove". She was born on Wednesday, July 29, 1931, in Frankfort, the daughter of the late Vernon and Ruth Weast Acton. On September 6, 1950, in Sardinia, Ohio, she married Gar C. Lane who passed away on March 29, 2016.
She is survived a daughter, Judy (Chuck) Sowers of Clarksburg and one son, Lee Lane of Frankfort, four grandchildren, Kim (Lincoln) Bossert, Brian (Heather) Sowers, Jessica Lane and Amanda Lane, seven great-grandchildren, Ariana Lane, Greenlee, Hayley and Allie Bossert, Kamryn, Kortney and Maceson Sowers and a sister-in-law, Kay Miner of Frankfort. Phyllis was preceded in death by a great - granddaughter, Brenlee Hope Lane, four brothers and their wives, Dane (Jean), George (Shirley), Joe (Kate) and Gene (June) Acton, two brothers-in-law, Philip Miner and Joe Lane and his wife, Henrietta.
Phyllis was a 1949 graduate of Frankfort High School. She was a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church and the Mary Martha Sunday School class and was well known for her homemade butterscotch pies. She enjoyed being a farmer's wife and loved the Ross County Fair and all the good times at the Frankfort Dairy Cone. She loved watching all the grandchildren and great - grandchildren in all their sports and activities. The family is forever grateful for Adena Hospice for the love and great care they showed for Phyllis and the family.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Neil Foster and Craig Reichert officiating. Following the service, Phyllis will be laid to rest beside her husband, Gar, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends and family can visit with the family on Wednesday from 11 a.m until the time of the service.
