Ralph McGowan, 83, of Frankfort, died Saturday morning, February 4, 2012 at OSU Medical Center, Columbus. He was born on September 13, 1928 in Ross County, the son of the late Ray and Ethel Huffman McGowan. On January 29, 1947 he married the former Doris Mae France, who preceded him in death on January 30, 1996.
Surviving are three daughters; Judy (Donald) Gullette, Donna (Dave) Minnix, all of Chillicothe, Karen (Don) Kuhns of Grove City, six grandchildren; Bill (Heather) Sever, Abby Minnix, Nathan Sever, Corby Minnix, Luke Kuhns, Allyson Kuhns, one great-granddaughter; Caroline Sever, Dean Newland, dedicated worker of 32 years; and a friend; Mary. He was preceded in death by two half brothers; William and Raymond McGowan.
Ralph was a local farmer, and a member of Mt. Tabor Community Christian Church, Chillicothe. He was a member of the Ross County Farm Bureau and a member and Past President of Paint Valley Fox Hunters Association.
Funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, with Rev. Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday (TODAY) from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Adena Foundation Cancer Center Fund, 172 Hospital Rd, Chillicothe OH 45601.
