Ray C. Corey Jr., 65, of New Petersburg, died at 7:50p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at his home. He was born on January 3, 1948 in Kentucky, the son of the late R.C. and Ethel Johnson Corey. On October 19, 2002 he married the former Darlene Miller who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Jackie (Jason) Mitchell of Frankfort, Jeff (Kristy) Corey of Lake Wills FL, Erin Winland of Greenfield, eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, five sisters, Kay (Homer) Austin of Frankfort, Fay (Paul) Whaley of Washington C.H., Linda (Duke) Robinette, of Frankfort, Brenda Corey of Chillicothe, Charlene "Weiner" (Joel) Roberts of Chillicothe, six brothers, Eddie (Laura) Corey of Chillicothe, Rob (Shawn) Corey of Frankfort, Paul Corey of Chillicothe, Larry Corey of Frankfort, Wyatt (Angie) Corey and Craig (Tonya) Corey all of Chillicothe, mother in law, Jackie Miller and father in law Donald Miller, both of Greenfield, best friend Mike Ater, Navy buddy Dave Vogttli, two sisters in law, Donna (Dave) Knisley of Bainbridge, Teresa Miller of Cincinnati, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son Kelley Corey and one infant son Billy Joe.
Ray served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Chillicothe, and had worked with Russ at Alexander Roofing. He was a jack of all trades. Ray was a unique brother, and loved his wife. He never met a stranger.
Funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Jason Yoakam officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort where military honors will be accorded. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8p.m. at the funeral home. The family encourages everyone to wear their Harley Davidson bandanas and shirts.
