Ray O. Justice, 87, of Circleville, formerly of Clarksburg, passed away Tuesday morning, December 26, 2023, at Berger Hospital following a brief illness. He was born, Friday, September 25, 1936, in Vinton County, the son of the late Richard and Lucille E. Wilson Justice. On June, 1960, he married his wife, the former Phyllis Ann George, and she survives.
In addition to his wife Phyllis, who he was married to for 63 years, Ray is survived by their two daughters, Rebecca (Ryan) Mason of Mount Sterling, Janet (Chris) Smith of Chillicothe, four grandchildren, Kara Creed, Jessica (Alex) Vandemark, Caleb (Kayla) Creed, Rachael Smith and bonus grandson, Danny Mason, four great-grandchildren, Emmalynn Vandemark, Gavin Vandemark, Charlie Faye Creed, Holly Mason, one sister, Edith Hawkins, and several nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Jack, Marvin, and Ralph Justice.
Ray was a 1955 graduate of Clarksburg High School and he retired from Wasserstrom and Sons as a journeyman welder after more than 40 years of service. Ray was a wonderful cook, enjoyed, playing bingo, and recently took up the sport of Wii Bowling.
Recently, Ray and Phyllis moved to Cranberry Park Assisted Living in Circleville where they have made several new friends. Thank you to those special aides and nurses that have cared for Ray and Phyllis like their own family over the past 6 months.
Family and friends can visit with Ray's family 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort. Ray will be laid to rest in Brown's Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg, immediately following the visitation. Those wishing to share memories of Ray may do so by signing his online register.
