Rev. James "Jim" Con VanHoose, 77, of London, OH, joined our Lord on Monday November 21, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Wintersong Village, Washington C.H., OH. He was born on March 18, 1934 in Sitka, KY (Johnson County) the son of the late Ray and Josephine Daniels VanHoose.

Jim is survived by one daughter; Lois Ann LeMaster of Clarksburg, OH, four grandchildren; Paula Ann (Walter)Rosser, Deborah Sue Smith, Michael (Elizabeth) Allen Smith, Thomas Allen "Tommy" Smith, seven great grandchildren; Ashli Nicole, Tommy III, Matthew, Kyle Eugene, Mary, Deborah II, and Cheyenne. Also surviving are four sisters; Wanda Mae (Adam) Blanton of Sitka, KY, Jewel (Leroy) Johnson of Paintsville, KY, Letrice Miller of Grove City, OH, Shirley Thompson of Sitka, KY, two brothers; Gary (Jane) VanHoose of Sitka, KY and Cary (June) VanHoose of Tallahassee, FL. Preceding him in death are his wife; Mary Frances Ward, great grandchildren; William and Brett Channell and LaDonna Smith, sister; Emmy VanHoose, two brothers; Jimmy and Larry VanHoose.

While Jim lived in Kentucky he worked at the bus station and attended Mayo State School for Mechanics. He moved to South Charleston, OH in 1956 and worked at McCord's in London and then Wilson Freight in South Charleston. He later retired from Goodyear in London in 1996. Jim was a member of Teamsters Local 613 and served as Union Stewart for all the companies he worked for. He was an Army veteran having served in Germany in the 547th Artillery.

Jim was a minister of God in several churches in Columbus, London, and surrounding areas. Jim was in several bowling leagues and played with many softball teams. He was a professional race car driver at the Columbus Motor Speedway,, Kil-Care Speedway in Xenia and at the Springfield race tracks.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Rev. Lin Blankenship and Rev. Steve Gilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort with military honors being accorded by the Frankfort American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 8 pm.
