Richard L. Garringer, 76, of Washington C.H. passed peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 7, 2013 with his brother Jack and special friend, Betty, by his side. He was born on November 21, 1936 to late Glenn and Martha Bartley Garringer. He was a lifelong resident of Fayette County.
He is survived by his daughters; Lisa A. Bowman of Greenfield and Ashley R. (Dennis) Franks of Lancaster, OH, one step son; Shawn Copas, two granddaughters; Mandy (Michael) Mills and Addison Franks, two great grandsons; Trevor and Zachary Mills, two brothers; Bill (Harriett) and Jack, one sister; Joyce Garringer, several nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Betty Fulwider and several nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Krista Lee, one sister, Donna Bowers, one brother, Tom Garringer and a brother-in-law, Kenny Bowers.
Richard retired from the Fayette County Highway Department where he had worked many years. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the VFW Post 3762.
Family and friends are asked to attend calling hours at the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. where a funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Burial of the cremains will follow at a later date in the Good Hope Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Fayette County, PO Box 849, Washington C.H., OH 43160.
